On the last evening that the ice rink was open at Discovery Green I saw a photo exhibit on the lawn. I took only one photograph thinking I’d have another opportunity to spend some more time there another day. It was Red Bull’s Illume exhibit that touts itself as the “biggest international photography competition that celebrates the world of action and adventure sports.” The show was comprised of 50 winning photographs out of the 22,764 originally submitted. Some of the photos question sanity, but all were impressive. My favorites included a self portrait in a barrel wave and others that captured the size of the participant versus the scale of their context.

The next day I returned to Discovery Green. The exhibit was gone. If you have any shots of the event we’d be glad to post them with an updated blog post. The photos below are from the exhibit’s book. The blurry photo is mine.
