Angela Martinez began her graphic design career immediately following high school by working at a north Texas printing house. It was there where she learned every aspect of the print industry and how to get a project completed—from concept to print. She attended university in Norfolk, Virginia and returned to Texas to finish her education at The Art Institute of Houston while working at a Houston printing company. While at AiH Angela was the student AIGA president and co-curated the 2008 Senior Portfolio Show, the first to be shown off-campus for the school. She was also awarded the Graphics Department Quarterly Scholarship, an honor selected only by the school’s faculty.
Since joining BRAVE / ARCHITECTURE she has established the firm’s graphic presence in Houston by heading the graphic design and web consultation department. Angela designed the firm’s marketing materials and has participated on large-scale graphic installations for some of the firm’s architectural projects. Angela provided pro bono services through the firm by designing and branding the AIA Houston’s 2009 and 2010 Design Awards graphic image, entry book, and award certificates.
