Project Update: HPD Museum, Grand Opening
17 May 2010, 15:19
Last Wednesday the Houston Police Museum reached a milestone. The City of Houston, in conjunction with National Police Week, held the official grand opening for the museum. The ceremony began with prayers and blessings to the officers of the city, acknowledging the men and women who put their lives on the line everyday to protect its citizens. The event continued with a speech prepared by Harris County District Attorney, Patricia R. Lykos, who not only did the official ribbon cutting, but also donated her own police uniform to the museum. Afterwards, the public was allowed to proceed through and view the museum exhibits and the HPD memorial.
