NYC :: Redux
11 February 2010, 15:20
This past weekend, I navigated my way through NYC on a blind scavenger hunt…with a little help from my iPhone. There was a good feeling that every corner I turned would be a pleasant surprise. Despite the sub-freezing temperatures, painful winds, taxi honking, and cold stares from the locals, it was a genuinely rewarding experience. After coming across several gems, I realized that this could probably go on forever as I’ve only trekked just a few square miles.
At that point, I looked up and began to wonder….”If only I was Spiderman…”
Although I didn’t quite make it to all the planned destinations, I did more than enough to fill my daily and nightly schedule. While there was “always tomorrow”, something about NYC just wouldn’t allow it. 3 days and 3 nights somehow merged into 1 and with about 10 hours of sleep somewhere in between, I felt it was a successful trip.
