There is something very rewarding about the beginning phases of construction on a project. For everyone in the office who has been working on the Massad Family Library Research Center and Hospitality Industry Archives, we are excited to see it coming to reality. This project consists of over 8,400 SF of interior gut-out demolition and new construction within the Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston’s Central Campus. Our firm was selected for this project based on previous performance on the School of Communications project. The design is to include an advance digital media research system, displays of memorabilia of the Hilton Family, lounge areas, research and educational spaces for small groups of students and visitors, computer kiosks, information and circulation desk and other amenities. The program also includes private study areas, meeting rooms, work areas and office space for the college’s archivist and other staff.

The center is designed to accommodate the latest computing and interactive teaching and research technology. The incorporation of natural light through openings at the perimeter and interior walls is also of added benefit to the new space. Keep coming back to see the progress of this remarkable project and see below what the end product will be.
