From NYC to Portland, ME

About a week ago, I embarked on a crazy journey in and around the New England coast line. I went from New York City to Boston and then to Portland, Maine. The three and a half days spent in New York City with my two dear friends did not seem long enough as the cold rain decided to show us just how unforgiving it can get. But I was on vacation and that would not stop us from enjoying the good food, great drinks and visiting with other Houstonians (who also made the journey to NYC). The sun finally decided to show its face on the last day, but apparently that was not enough for the airlines to resume flying. Alas, my flight was canceled so I had to travel, via bus, to Boston, Mass. However, the four hour drive was worth it as I was able to rendezvous with my cousins and join them on a two hour drive to Portland, Maine. Here, in this very seasonal town, I was not only impressed by the beautiful rain-free days but also by its historical quality. The remaining three days of my vacation proved to be a pleasant and warm experience. Again, I spent my time enjoying the local food and visiting places unique to this part of the country.
