Elsewhere, Texas Exhibit - Austin Edition
21 January 2010, 14:11
Last Friday, January 15, Elsewhere, Texas opened at Center for Architecture Austin. The exhibit was very well received and attendance was high. I also gave a short speech on what motivated the show and about how it was curated. Another point I touched on was the importance of having these shows in regards to collectively showing what Texas’ architecture community is doing and the possibility of the existence of a regionalist approach to design. Many of the architects whose work is on display were present to discuss their projects. Fort Worth and San Antonio have also expressed interest in having the show at their architecture centers. Hopefully that will materialize soon. Elsewhere, Texas was originally organized to coincide with the Texas Society of Architect 2009 Convention and opened at the Architecture Center Houston in September 2009.
