Audio ::: Marisa Monte

I have always enjoyed Brazilian music. Since I was a child, I’ve listened to it through my father’s many albums. His collection included different composers such as Vinicius de Moraes, Joao Gilberto, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Toquinho, Jorge Ben, and Wilson Simonal, among many others. I started to develop a deeper interest as I got older and, through my own research, I began to discover other Brazilian musicians and styles.

I discovered Marisa Monte in the late 80’s, during a summer vacation in southern Brazil. Since then, I’ve listened to her music as both a soloist as well as in collaboration with other musicians. Enjoy!
