This past Saturday, a few of us decided to opt out of lying in the sun at a park or attending the summer music festival, in favor of…work! We participated in some work-related fun at the annual Rice Design Alliance Charrette. This year’s theme, Seawall Ecosystem, involved the master planning of a site located at 22nd and Seawall in Galveston. An additional program involved the construction of a low cost structure that would be utilized to help activate the site. After about 6 hours of intense labor, Peter, Sally, our summer intern Fabian and myself were able to crank out an entry that we felt best addressed the presented challenge.
